5 Things to Carry in Your Summer Baby Bag
Summer is finally in full swing, which means the heavy coats, gloves, scarves, and all the extra stuff that my family needs to keep warm in the colder months of the year are now a distant memory. Yeah!
But now that we’re into sunnier days and warmer temps, there’s a whole different set of stuff we need to consider. Here are my top five items I make sure to keep handy in my summer baby bag:
5 Things to Pack in Your Summer Baby Bag
Extra clothes. I learned my lesson in my first few months of parenthood when my daughter had a blowout and I had to squeeze her into a one piece sleeper that she had far outgrown. Now I use the change of seasons to revisit the spare outfit in our diaper bag to make sure it fits and is seasonally appropriate.
Sunscreen and bug repellent. I always keep these handy since we never know just how long we’ll be outdoors. And because I’m not great at applying sunscreen on my daughter prior to leaving the house, I am on the hunt for good sunscreen wipes for a quicker, easier application.
Sunhat and sunglasses. The trick is to wear them frequently so she can get used to them. I speak from experience because I wish I had put more hats and hair accessories on my daughter when she was just a couple months old. Unfortunately, my daughter pulls them off every chance she gets. It definitely helps to find options with Velcro ties to help keep them on and in place.
Wet bags. I find these come in handy all year long for those blow out clothes, but they also come in handy for trips to the beach or pool when you don’t want to get your bag and all your other belongings wet from the soaked clothes and swim diaper.
Sippy cup and snacks. Of course these are handy all year long as well, but it’s particularly important to keep baby hydrated in the warmer months especially when they’re out in the sun and constantly running around.
What other summer essentials do you keep in your diaper bag?
