Teacher Appreciation Month: Appreciating Teachers at Daycare

I recently attended curriculum night at Max’s public school preschool program. Leaving the event, I found myself thinking how much I appreciate the daycare program both my boys have been in. There has been more than one occasion where I’ve mentioned to my husband that if these public school teachers worked at any of our centers, I’m not sure they’d last very long. So, in the spirit of positive reinforcement and Teacher Appreciation Month at Bright Horizons, I want to say thank you to all of the teachers my sons have had at their child care center.

Thank you for never making me feel like you didn’t want to be there. I’m sure there are days when you don’t feeling like setting out another activity, or just wanted to curl up on the couch and watch a movie. I’m sure there are days when you don’t want to deal with another difficult child or let’s face it, difficult parent. I’m sure you wish you could go home on the days you have staff meetings or center events. But you never show me that. I have never left an event thinking that you didn’t want to be there. I left seeing the genuine pride you have in your classroom, in the place where you work and pride in how you’re helping me to raise kind, smart, nurturing children.

Thank you for taking extra time to talk with me. To ask my how my day was or how our trip to Mimi’s house was over the weekend. I know that there are probably times you need to leave for lunch, or your day has ended but you still take time to tell me about the day. Thank you for taking the time to email me during the afternoon just to say that Max had a rough morning…or to say that he had a great one. I know that both boys are safe and well taken care of when they are there and that means so much to us.

I hope you know how appreciated you are every month, not just this one.
