Celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. Day with Kids
Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day! How will you be recognizing the day with your family?
Children have a lot to learn about the world and their place in it, about how to make friends and meet others. The learning goes on throughout our lifetime as we are finding our way in a complicated and richly diverse world. If children are going to grow up prepared to flourish in multicultural communities and a global society, they need our active and thoughtful engagement as guides to a world where prejudice and racism have no place. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day is a great day to celebrate different cultures and have open and honest communication with kids about these topics.
