DIY Toddler Valentines

A few weeks back I wrote about some non-candy valentine ideas for Liam to give his friends and classmates. I love all the ideas but after some thought, I decided to go with animals rather than trucks or trains. I wasn’t up for doing more than one kind of valentine and animals seemed more universally likable. Plus, they are so easy to find.

Liam and I made a trip to Michael’s to pick up supplies. He picked out a tube of animals and I picked out some scrapbook paper to use as the backing for the valentine. I whipped up a cute little card and punched holes to run the baker’s twine through. Then I glued the card stock to the back to help add some sturdiness. This step also helped the baker’s twine stay in place since it’s stuck between the layers of paper. All in all, the whole project came together in less than an hour. I think they came out pretty cute and so does Liam – he wanted to bring them in to give to his friends today.
