Easy Christmas Morning Breakfast Recipes
It’s Christmas Eve and between present wrapping, party prep and the million other things that need to happen in the next 24 hours, planning breakfast for tomorrow morning can seem pretty low on the list of priorities. While (in my opinion) a good Christmas morning breakfast is critical to the whole Christmas experience, about the last thing I want to do is spend lots of time in the kitchen on Christmas morning. So, here are some of my favorite recipes to make a great and easy Christmas morning breakfast, most which can be prepped the day before.
5 Easy Breakfast Recipes for Christmas Morning
Baked French Toast with Apples. I make this baked french toast recipe without the bourbon anytime we’re having guests for breakfast/brunch. It’s easy to put together the night before and it’s super yummy. With the apples and caramel on the bottom you don’t even need syrup!
Baked Bacon. Bacon is really a critical ingredient to any good breakfast in my carnivorous opinion, but it’s such a pain to cook. A few years ago I found this bacon tutorial for making bacon in the oven – the bacon comes out perfect and both the cooking and cleanup is a snap. Life changing.
Frittata. I love frittatas because really, anything tastes good in them and they reheat so well. This frittata recipe is awesome but really, add whatever you’ve got in the fridge. Sometimes I’ll make them ahead and undercook a minute or two so they can be popped back in the oven the morning of but honestly, slices heat up pretty nicely in the microwave too.
Banana Bread. Banana bread was a staple of Christmas morning breakfast growing up so something about it always reminds me of Christmas. My mom would make it a few weeks in advance and take it out to thaw on Christmas Eve. I would proceed to slather several slices with butter and jam and gobble them up.
Festive Pancakes. Liam is insisting on pancakes this year which I’m a fan of because he and his dad are the official pancake makers in the house. Liam usually requests special pancakes for himself (like Mickey Mouse or an “L”) but I’m thinking tomorrow we might surprise him with something festive like these reindeer pancakes. Bacon, pancakes and fruit are basically his favorite foods and he’s obsessed with Rudolph this year so it seems like a winner.
