Get Outside

Playing outside is of major importance to me.   I was definitely one of those kids who went outside in the morning and only came in for lunch and dinner.   And then went outside again to play flashlight tag or ghost in the graveyard before bed.   I know times have changed and most of us have kids too young to simply send outside but the diminishing amount of time that kids play outside is truly heartbreaking.   I’ll spare you the pontification and remind you that this week is National Wildlife Week, the National Widlife Federation’s longest running education program.

As we head into the weekend, check out the NWF’s site . where you can find out information about their “Be Out There” campaign as well as ideas for activities to do with your children whether you live in an urban, suburban or rural area.  Now, go play outside!
