Group Halloween Costumes for Kids
Between my sister and I, we have 4 kids ages 5 and under, two of whom are three weeks apart. There are three boys and a girl. In addition to matching or coordinating outfits for most holidays, we pride ourselves in thinking up fun group Halloween costume ideas for kids. There is a town near us that hosts a Halloween Costume Parade where children trick or treat at the stores and parade around the town center wearing adorable costumes. I thought I’d let you in on some of our past costumes in case you have a group of buddies who like to trick or treat together.
Group Halloween Costume Ideas & Examples
The first Halloween both my kids were around for, they dressed as Curious George and The Man in the Yellow Hat.
Year one of the group Halloween parade, my sister and I didn’t coordinate. We had a UPS Man, a construction worker (who was supposed to be his brother’s delivery by wearing a UPS box I fashioned into a sandwich board type costume but absolutely refused, so we had to go with a last minute Halloween costume instead). Their cousin dressed up as a vampire.
Year two, the group Halloween costumes for our kids were the gang from Yo Gabba Gabba. We also had our cousin join us as a fifth member of the team.
And this year, we’re off to see the Wizard, the wonderful Wizard of Oz. Complete with Dorothy (the one girl in our crew), the Scarecrow, Tin Man and Lion.
I’ve come across some other group Halloween costume ideas that would be cute too. In fact two of them came from this parade. There is one family who has a set of twins (my guess is they’ll be about 2 years old this year) and an older child who is probably about 6 or 7 years old. Their group Halloween costumes the past two years have been great. The parents use their double stroller as part of the costumes. The first year we saw them the stroller had a box around it and the babies appeared to be in jail, while their older brother was a police man. Last year, they were all astronauts, but the babies were in a rocket ship, also fashioned around their stroller. Can’t wait to see what they’ll be this year!
Do you have a group of kids that dress up together for Halloween? We’re going to need ideas for next year!
