Why I am a “Lucky” Parent
Aili: In terms of pure luck as a parent I think I hit the jackpot with my good sleeper; it still was work, but I had it much easier than a lot of my other friends with little ones!
Amy: I feel lucky as a parent.. for having an incredible support system in my family and friends, local and far away. They are the ones who help me with impromptu babysitting, a shoulder to cry on (literally and figuratively) as well as someone to reassure me that my son’s latest ailment is “definitely normal.” They’re also willing to listen to me chatter about my kid and will almost always humor me and look at “just a couple new pictures of baby.”
Emily: I feel very lucky that my girls love and like each other so much. They are five years apart and will likely go through phases of closeness, but the basis of their relationship will always be built on a close bond. I also feel fortunate to work for a family-friendly organization that sees my family not as an annoyance, but as a legitimate thing that should be celebrated and supported.
Melissa: I am a lucky parent because in the midst of all the craziness that life can bring us, my two children make me laugh every single day. And not just a giggle laugh – but those deep belly laughs that hurt your stomach and brings tears! And the best feeling in the world is when they make each other laugh….they’re like a comedy duo!
