Mom to Mom Challenge: Taking Time for Mom
It’s back…the Mom to Mom Challenge! You may remember a while back when Green Mom challenged the other moms to pack a waste-free lunch. This time around Modern Mom is challenging the other moms to find some me-time in their busy days. Check back all week to see how the moms fared!
I don’t know about you, but I feel like every day is a marathon, and the finish line keeps moving farther and farther away. The last time I took some time for myself, I took an hour to get my nails done. I brought my daughter along, who proceeded to use all of the sample colors as her finger-paints. So maybe that doesn’t count as time for myself. Here’s my challenge: let’s each try to find 30 minutes a day for ourselves for an entire week. We can add the minutes together so if we take an hour one day we don’t need the 30 minutes on the next. Here’s what doesn’t count:
1. Commuting time
2. House cleaning time…even if you’re listening to your favorite music and trying to get a workout in at the same time
3. TV…I know, I know, but isn’t that more “zoning out time” than “me time”?
4. Getting a manicure if you have a child in tow.
