Mother’s Day 2014: A Keepsake Mother’s Day Activity

Mother’s Day 2014: A Keepsake Mother’s Day Activity

Each year as Mother’s Day approaches, I struggle with whether or not I want a break, a day away, or whether I want to spend the whole day with my kids (but not cooking or cleaning, of course). Not to mention, how do I squeeze in time with my own mother? This year, we managed to do it all.  Friday evening, my mom, sister and I treated ourselves to pedicures and dinner. Who says Mother’s Day only has to be on a Sunday? Friday night works just as well. Sunday was a quiet day at home, doing yard work and just enjoying my boys. We’ve become so busy on the weekends with sports and errands and other obligations that it’s nice to just have a day at home once in a while.

I did manage to ask them some of the Mother’s Day questions that the other bloggers have asked their kids (See Amy’s and Mary’s kids’ responses!). While some answers made me chuckle (I can assure you that cleaning the floor is not my favorite household chore), others gave me pause, like when Ben didn’t miss a beat when answering that his mom is…busy. Ouch.

This is the first year I’ve done this, but I definitely plan to repeat again next year. It was fun and my boys are still requesting to answer more questions about Mommy. If you’d like to try it with your own children, here’s the worksheet with questions.
