New Year’s Resolutions for a New Working Mom

I’m not usually one to make New Year’s resolutions but I’ve been inspired by Kris-Ann’s resolutions. I’ve now been a mom for 4.5 months and a working mom for nearly two months and it seems like the perfect time to take a step back and assess how things are going and what I could do better.

A New Working Mom’s New Year’s Resolutions

1. Start exercising again. While I’ve lost all the baby weight (thank you breastfeeding), I certainly don’t feel like it. The difference is absolutely attributed to the fact that prior to birth I regularly exercised and now I almost never do. With an infant son who doesn’t yet sleep through the night and a full time job, finding the time isn’t going to be easy but for now I’m committing to three workout sessions a week.

2. Continue breastfeeding Liam until the one year mark. Although I’ve documented that I’m not a fan of pumping, I’ve made it this far and I’m committed to keeping it going.

3. Start Saturday family activities/excursions. My husband I want to show Liam as much about the world around us as possible. Lately it feels like weekends have been overrun with errands and to-dos so we’re going to make a concerted effort to dedicate time each Saturday to go somewhere or do something new with Liam.

Like Kris-Ann said, I hope that writing them here will keep me accountable. Anyone else making New Year’s Resolutions?
