As a mom to a school age daughter and preschool son, it’s important to surround my family with “nourishing” experiences especially around food and nature. We read books about food and the natural world, we garden, we volunteer at our local farmer’s market, we participate in Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs, we go to farms and pick our own, we cook together, we spend lots of time outdoors, and we have family dinners 5-6 nights per week. As a working mom and wife, I spend lots of time setting (and resetting) my priorities. Most days my work life balance is off kilter but I always try my best to keep my family well “nourished.”
