Our Favorite Children’s Board Games
Amy: I loved board games as a kid and still do today! My favorites as a child were: Sorry, Connect 4, Clue, Battleship, Monopoly, Yahtzee, Parcheesi. There are so many more options now. Here are some that my kids enjoy. Board Games for preschool kids: Candy Land, One Fish-Two Fish Game, Zingo, Richard Scarry’s Busytown, Memory Game, Hungry-Hungry Hippo. Board games for school-age kids: Sorry, Apples to Apples Jr., Uno, Monopoly, Bananagrams, Qwirkle, Headbanz.
Mary: My daughter loves mancala, which is great, because I too loved this game as a kid. Both kids right now are into Monopoly Jr. and Life – again some of my favorites as a kid so I enjoy playing these with them. Awhile back, I reviewed some other children’s board games that my kids enjoyed trying out.
Kate: Candyland is a big favorite in our house right now. Liam also loves any kind of matching game.
Media Mom: For preschool kids I love games that are more interactive than traditional board games. Connect Four, Perfection and Barrel Full of Monkey are great. They have fun playing even if it’s not a win/lose proposition. For school age kids, my new favorite is Head Bandz, and we also love Spot It.
