A Playlist for New Moms

A Playlist for New Moms

Just before my daughter was born, I was naturally nesting. As a part of that process, I made myself a playlist of some of my favorite lullaby type songs. I didn’t know if she was a girl or a boy, so I had a few gender neutral songs and a few gender specific. After my daughter was born, I listened to it every night while I nursed her in the middle of the night. Later, I listened to it every night after my son was born. It is still one of my favorite compilation mixes. For all soon-to-be new moms, here is my playlist (including some classics!):

  • Miracle by Celine Dion
  • Baby Mine by Bette Midler
  • Have A Little Faith in Me by Jewel
  • Lullabye by Billy Joel
  • She’s becoming Gold by Marc Cohn
  • Rainbow Connection by Sarah McLachlan
  • Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel Kamakawio’ole
  • Something in the Way She Moves by James Taylor
  • This Woman’s Work by Kate Bush
  • Things We’ve Handed Down by March Cohn
  • Return to Pooh Corner by Kenny Loggins
  • The Heart of Life by John Mayer
  • Father and Daughter by Paul Simon
  • If These Walls Could Speak by Shawn Colvin
  • Judy’s Comet by Paul Simon
  • Why Worry by Dire Straits
  • My Own Two Hands by Jack Johnson & Ben Harper
  • Welcome to the World by Nicolette Larson
  • Loch Lomond by Dan Zanes & Friends

For those of you who are on Spotify, you can download the playlist here:

I love all these songs. I will make sure my daughter-in-law gets these.
