I am a big fan of s’mores…and don’t get to eat them often enough. Last weekend, we had the opportunity to toast marshmallows and make s’mores in our backyard. It was a sad moment when I discovered that my daughter didn’t know how to toast a marshmallow! The last time we toasted marshmallows was more than two years ago, so of course she didn’t remember it. And, to add insult to injury, she didn’t like them. She handed the perfectly toasted marshmallow back to me saying, “the middle is all creamy” with a disgusted look on her face. Where did I go wrong?!!?
The next day I was going through some old photos from last summer and came across this one:
This is her kind of s’more. An un-toasted marshmallow dipped in chocolate sauce and crushed graham crackers – and of course it’s on a stick just like a real toasted marshmallow (which is right up her alley since she still loves to eat with a toothpick). Yum!
