#SocialParenting: Diversity Day
This December, the preschool students at Bright Horizons / U Chicago Child Development Center Drexel took part in the”Spread Love” campaign, which celebrates and encourages diversity and differences within the center.
On December 4th the center held its annual “Diversity Day” and potluck dinner. The children sang to kick off the event, and all of the UChicago families brought in dishes representing their families cultures! The children sang, “The More We Get Together” and dressed in multicultural clothes representing their countries.
The “Spread Love” campaign will continue until the end of December. Staff and families are spreading love by participating in a toy drive, volunteering in their child’s classroom and sharing stories about their family’s history, traditions, and values. The families are also brainstorming and writing down ways to spread love throughout the end of the year!
