#SocialParenting: Kindergarten Space Activity
The Kindergarten class at Bright Horizons at Collegeville (Phoenixville, PA) has been learning all about space! They’ve been reading books and having classroom discussions on the different planets, the moon and astronauts. The children even worked together to create a rocket ship in their dramatic play area. Each student had the opportunity to take a flight! When they got to the moon, the children walked all around and explored – they even got to walk through “moon dust” while visiting space!
Back on planet Earth, the students made textured playdough to get a sense for how planets feel. They discussed fun facts about the solar system and reviewed all of the amazing things they learned about space through this hands-on project.
