Pen Pal Activity For Kids

Pen Pal Activity For Kids

We’re always excited to share the fun learning and development activities that go on in our centers across the country. One particularly neat piece of news as of late: Bright Horizons at Fishkill, NY started a pen pal program! They developed their pen pal activity for kids as part of their Language Works and Our World curriculum.

A child from Bright Horizons Fishkill shares the center’s very first letter with the mail person!

This program helps the students continue to develop their early language and writing skills while learning to connect with people in a new way. As part of the pen pal program, the infants through K-Prep students will write letters or draw pictures (depending on their age group) and share them with family and friends who live across the United States.

This creative classroom activity was recently spotlighted on the Bright Horizons Facebook page. Be sure to head there to see the terrific classrooms we highlight on a weekly basis.

If you’re a parent who is looking for helpful ways you can encourage your child to write the Bright Horizons Growing Writers page offers up some ideas; for example, give your child a journal or ask them to play reporter and write a story about a recent family event.
