Unveiling a New Bright Space for Homeless Children
Over the past year, The Bright Horizons Foundation, CrossFit New England and the non-profit, kettlebells4kids, have been working hard to create a Bright Space at the South Middlesex Opportunity Council’s Pathways family shelter in Framingham, MA. Bright Spaces are warm, enriching play spaces in homeless shelters and community agencies where children, youth, and families in crisis can learn and play together.
This new Bright Space was recently unveiled – here’s a glimpse into this beautiful new play space! Congratulations to all employees, organizations and volunteers involved in this wonderful project!
Editor’s Note: You can help make a difference in the lives of the 2.5 million homeless children in our country by taking part in Kettlebells4Kids’ annual fundraiser, which begins Sept 9 and benefits the Bright Horizons Foundation for Children’s Bright Spaces program.
Donations raised from participating boxes/gyms will be spread out to many Bright Spaces. It will help these enriching play spaces in homeless shelters and community agencies to purchase supplies and equipment related to fitness and movement. (Last year’s fundraiser raised money that was distributed to 23 Bright Spaces in 20 states!) Registration is now open. You can sign up to participate here or if kettlebells aren’t your cup of tea, you can still support a team!
